Remembering Steve

As most of you may have heard, our good friend Steve Kaika of the New London band The Reducers, passed away on Tuesday June 12 after a courageous battle with cancer. The whole town came together last Friday night in celebration of Steve and also to help raise money for his family to assist with medical bills. We were absolutely proud and honored to have been a part of it. We played just a  few songs in between the likes of Dogbite, The Original Sinners, The Rivergods and Ken Atkins & The Honky Tonk Kind, along with many other special guests. What an absolutely amazing night.

The next night, (Saturday June 16), we played with our new friends The Throttles (from RI) at 33 on Golden Street. What another fantastic night! We are in the process of recording the song "Nothing Cool" by The Reducers for a tribute album which is being organized/produced by musician and family member of Steve's, Jes Farnsworth, who lives in California. We met Jes on Friday night at Steve's benefit and asked him to come up with us to perform "Nothing Cool" during our set Saturday night! Luckily, the lovely Dawn Jalet Trombley (who was in attendance with her husband, Reducers' drummer Tom Trombley), managed to catch the song on her phone! (Thanks Dawn!)
